Hello, I was after your opinion on air miles as I'm struggling to make sense of it.I managed to amass 6000 Flying Blue miles from a couple of trips.I checked these on a calculator on the KLM website and it seemed as though this would cover a trip to India.

I then went through the booking phase and it seems like I need 100,000 miles to get a ticket for £200, so obviously I was mistaken. Is 6000 chicken feed in terms of air miles? It's just that they expire within 18 months of accumulating them so to clock up 100,000 miles you'd need to be doing 15+ trips to get near that number.

Are they only really for business/frequent flyers?

Thanks

Mrs BC & I used KLM a lot when they flew from Stansted. We found their airmiles very difficult to use and not very generous so we now fly with Virgin.

Thanks, I was thinking originally that 1 mile = 1 mile of flight, turns out that 6000 would by me half a pencil smile
