We're doing exactly the same for one week in October, so it would be good to get your thoughts upon your return. smile
Quick update, we got back this week and thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Possibly my favourite holiday we've been on.

Atlantis for me was great, I appreciate it may not be for everyone but it wasn't that busy so not that many kids running around. The aquarium and water park are both fantastic! We spent most days floating around the lazy river smile

We also upgraded to an executive suite and imperial club, I found the room too big and complete overkill for us, but the girlfriend loved it. The imperial club upgrade was ok. Handy for breakfast and a few free drinks at happy hour. On reflection probably not worth the cash.

Taxis are dirt cheap. Really cheap. Food wasn't as bad as I thought. Drink, wine especially is very expensive.

We went on a desert safari, both malls, Burj Khalifa,Burj Al Arab etc. Mall of Emirates was disappointing but the Dubai Mall was fantastic!

Can't wait to go back sometime.

Happy to answer any questions

Hang on a minute. Just back-up a tad.
You mean you went to Dubai for a holiday, didn't get arrested for ANYTHING? Don't believe you. You're posting from prison aren't you, after getting 25 years for breathing?
You also mean to say that you shared a room with your girlfriend? You're not married? That's 50 years inside in Dubai.
And of course you don't have an alcohol licence so you didn't touch wine or beer yourself for the duration of your stay? That would be big trouble.
Surely you got banged up for holding hands with your girlfriend? No? Oh. How about because the Mrs (presumably) wore some kind of swimming attire? Is she currently serving 20 years?

Sorry about this mate, glad you had a great time. There are plenty of arse 'oles on here that will hate reading your post.

We stayed at the Atlantis last year, my faveourite hotel now, although the daily taxi drive into town is a bit of a chore, particualrly if you time it wrong.

After a rip-off week in Rome, Dubai suddenly seems like good value, except £100 bottles of wine though that should be £20.

Well I'm back and not arrested. Love the place, even though it totally contradicts itself. Brunch is like all the 7 deadly sins locked in one room for 4 hours and left to slug it out to see who the winner is.

best brunches for fun and frolics would be safron [atlantis] rolling onto the ndulge terrace afterwards, or yalumba followed by warehouse. both circa £80 a head but brunch isn't what kills your wallet, post brunch drinking takes care of that! if you're on a budget try double decker.

personal current brunch favourite it toro toro at the grosvenor. by far the best food and drinks and much more relaxing and upmarket. safron is a bit tiring these days and the food/drink needs a revamp.

deep pockets required for a stay at atlantis mind! was there last weekend at nasimi beach. a shisha, 3-4 drinks each [2 people] and 3 plates of sushi was approaching 150quid.

Cheers - planning on going to the one at Toro Toro with my wife.

Is Yalumba quite a rowdy affair? ...just how wild can brunch be??
