Granada in Spain is pretty good - you've got the Alhambra and can get to Ronda and Leon pretty easily from there, too. It's also a uni town so good night life and I believe it's the home of tapas which means there are plenty of awesome places to eat. It gets quite hot in the summer though.
Agreed. My OH lived there for a year so ended up spending a lot of time there - fantastic place.

I've just returned from a long weekend in Sopot (Poland). There is culture nearby in Gdansk. The nightlife is great, the food and drink is cheap. There's a beach and the women there are out of this world.

Definitely worth a visit during the summer months.
I've been to Gdansk, it was great fun, I thoroughly recommend it. It was nice and compact which is great for a lazybones like me.

Budapest is beautiful and has great nightlife (and amazing women if that's relevant).
I've been already, but I agree with all your points. The women are indeed stunning.

Great suggestions, thanks all. Granada does look good, as does Reykjavík.

My initial plan was Kiev, but it's probably not a good idea at the moment.

No probably not. Tel Aviv as well supposed to be great, probably not the best place to be right now though

If you were willing to go to Ukraine then Belgrade in Serbia is supposed to be great, as is Ljubljana in Slovenia.

I'm doing krakow in November which is abit more well trodden these days but you could do 3 nights there and 2 nights in the mountain resort of zakopane which is nearby and looks stunning

Yep, I liked it there but Sopot was several levels above it.

You need to head 1hr further south to Maastricht. Wonderful place, rich in history, fantastic bars and restaurants and truly a good place all round.
yes

We stayed there for a night on the way back from a road trip in Germany. We weren't there long but it seemed really nice and we've got it on our to visit list to see it properly.

If you do decided on Maastricht this is a lovely hotel and very much recommended.

Annecy is worth a look too. Really nice place and brilliant for a wander. Castle in the centre of the town surrounded by water.

I also really liked Dijon. Didn't expect much of it but had a really good atmosphere and interesting architecture.

Palermo, Sicily?

Just think of the food and wine. I've stopped around Sicily many times and have always enjoyed it there.

Krakow is a decent visit, good nightlife and plenty of history. I don't know if it is your thing, but Aushwitz-Birkenhau is close by as well and somewhere everybody should see.
+1 for this.
Lots of great places mentioned already smile
Maybe also consider, Split, Riga, Lisbon, Sofia, Bucharest, Sorrento and anywhere in Spain.

I cycled from Seville to Granada, both cities are good but I did prefer Granada. I got lost quite a few times in Seville quite a few times which has never happened to me before - it can be quite a disorientating place, especially during Feria de abril!

I really liked Turin and Bologna, not least because I went on business with no expectations. Florence failed to live up to the hype in comparison, but not as bad as Milan, which is the world's most overrated city.

If you like food, then I'd go for San Sebastian. Don't bother booking anywhere for dinner, and just trundle from one bar to the next eating the most amazing tapas known to man.

Lots of nice places mentioned. Tallinn in Estonia is the only one I have spotted missing that I would recommend. Easy 3 day trip and we loved it.

Another place for you to consider is Poznan in Poland.

Salzburg is another nice place, but smaller and more touristy than Graz. Plus with Graz you have all the vineyards to the south drink
