Any recommendations for locations and accommodation for 2 adults, 3 kids for a cycling holiday?

Thinking cycling a bit by a canal or river, pub for lunch, then back to cottage or lodge.

And repeat.

Obviously weather dependent but assuming boiling heat and sun, not.
