Hi

Can anybody recommend somewhere in Europe that's warm and nice in October for a weeks holiday. I don't fancy North Africa or Africa as a whole.

Any other suggestions are welcomed, I've never been to Turkey, Greece etc not ideal but as before I'm open to hotels, places and suggestions.

Cheers

Cyprus is difficult to beat if you want sun, but with a modicum of civilisation.

Much depends on who flies as some airlines cut back on winter flights. In general, the Canaries is the default but Turkey, Greece and Cyprus are all good.
Personally, I chose Fuerteventura against Cyprus simply because the flight was quite a bit cheaper.
The Canaries can sometimes give an overcast week, like anywhere else but is usually a safe bet and, if it rains, it's usually overnight.

A friend of mine recommends Turkey but I have yet to try it, again down to the flights being a bit more expensive.

We've done Cyprus a couple of times in mid Oct. It's usually more than hot enough to sunbath/hike but slightly chilly in an unheated pool. We found a great place once with a hottub which was perfect.

Uk plugs and they drive on the left - bonus!

How about Turkey? Friendly people, great food and a fascinating country that's diverse enough to satisfy all tastes, whether you're after all-inclusive resorts or a cultural adventure.

By October it's started to cool down so the temperature is spot on, although the chance of rain increases a bit. We went to Olu Deniz in early October and it peaked at mid-30s at midday and we were still eating outside in t-shirts in the evenings.

What type of hotel are you looking for? There are some very nice 5 star hotels here. Do you want busy area or countryside?

We usually go to tenerfie in October, always had nice warm weather. Last year for a change we went to Rhodes at the end of October. It was warm enough to sunbathe all day and the sea was lovelyh but I think its a bit of a gamble in Greece at that time of year.

Somewhere with bars restaurants and some nightlife would be nice, I know its October so it won't be busy.

ok, then look for hotels in the St Julians area. Plenty of hotels of all categories, loads of restaurants/bars/clubs/cafes etc.
