Not much good on clubbing any more but for drinks there are a few options up that way. Depends on the time of year really, if you are at or close to the Meridien in Garhoud then there are a number of options there for beer in the Meridien village, sits at the back of the airport hotel and the al bhustan Rotana. If the weather is cooler then the Irish Village is a good bet and very close, if you are here this weekend the beer festival is on and is good raucous fun.
Close by is the boardwalk at the Creek golf club and Park Hyatt does a great brunch at Taitour.
Over Garhoud bridge is Wafi with a couple of options in the raffles hotel, then probably the next area is SZR and the Downtown area, Souk al Bahar is easy to cab to and has several options in all price brackets.
