looking to do a short break over xmas with our young boys... ideally less than 4 hours away from bucks and preferably some kind of log cabin thing or glamping thing but more inland and woody rather than coastal..anyone done anything similar in the past?

That was on four in a bed.

Lovely looking place but some of the facilities were a bit strange.

Not glamping / log cabin but equally different. Stay in a castle http://www.stayinacastle.com/ Augill Castle, caters especially for families. Went last year with my wife and 2 kids and loved it.
