And Cariba, near the cliff, more downmarket but very good food and the Chef is a really nice guy.

The el tiger boat trip is good, crew that are great fun. Only get 15 to 20 onboard so not to many.

Oistins on a Friday night is ok for a night out. Some loved it some hated it. It pissed down when we went so wasn't great but good food and cheap.

I thought Oistins was rubbish.

Try Cool Runnings for the best night cruise.

That's the thread I couldn't be arsed linking back to. I have to be honest it's a bit "explore the island, culture and see stuff" than I can be fked with. I'm knackered. It's been 60hr weeks since the start of the year, travelling between three different countries each week inc weekends. I'm done, nothing in the tank. We are booked in at Sandy and all I want is that beach bar mentioned and to swim with a cpl of turtles. The rest of the world can foxtrot oscar. Including Roddy.

Natacha works at their spa. She does amazing massages. And she races cars!

Seriously man...is your mission in life to get me arrested and/or divorced?

So Natacha, the Soovster says you do massages yes? What say you make me relaxed, get me happy then you and I go hit Roddy with the Sugar Cane?

Enjoy St Maarten, liked Barbados, been to Anguilla, Gnd Cayman, St Barts - that's nice but Aruba was our least favourite, very American.

In my experience, the "high rise" part of Aruba is to be avoided at all times...full of USA peeps as has been said. The "low rise" is far nicer as it's where the Europeans go, especially the Dutch.

I have nothing against USA peeps!

Probably coming to this too late but, OP, you asked about Tamarind and me and wife stayed there in '05. Really like it and had major refurb since. It's linked up with 2-3 other resorts with a boat shuttle between them. Turtles right off the beach. Just snorkel out and there they are. For me that was even more impressive than when we've done safari. Also can swim up to Sandy Lane if you're intrigued as to what that's all about.

Daphne's restaurant right next door, which is twinned with restaurant of same name in Kensigton.

We may be looking at it with rose-tinted glasses as our first holiday together... but we plan to go back to Tamarind in '15 to mark 10 years.

To the chaps who have property out here, all I can say is you lucky lucky buggers!

How do I go about persuading Barbados they need an aerospace industry?

Pop over to the SeaCat down (or is it up) the road a bit.

Looks like a tin shack (it is) but Andrew and his guys do really good fish dishes in a no fuss style.

Princess who does lunches out of a Suzuki Carry van down that way is pretty good too.

Then again if you are AI at the Lane....
