I will be there Saturday for work unloading at a hotel, once done parking at a truckstop 17 miles north of the city.
So Sunday-Wednesday I'm free to do what I want, thinking I should be able to get a train in so what should I do???
I've done the Olympic park and BMW museum before, anything else?

I love Munich - great city....
Two good webistes; http://www.muenchen.de/int/en.html & http://www.munich-touristinfo.de/
They have a great travel app to help you get around - search for MVV Companion on Playstore/iStore - it works brilliantly.
And of course no visit to Munich is complete without a visit to http://www.hofbraeuhaus.de/en/index_en.html

Dachau as above .... wouldn't say its a "great" day, but its probably one of the most memorable and poignant places i have ever visited.
Deutsche Museum (drop into the Hoffbrau House afterwards)
Some great beer gardens in the perlacher forest to the south (Taufkirchen on the TBan will get you there)
Just walk about the down and enjoy the place!

Yep Oktoberfest starts next week. Er...is your hotel booked?
The Garten is lovely to walk round. Expat centre is Ned Kelly/Killians just off Marianplatz or Kennedys down at Sendlinger Tor.
If you want some well priced good quality clothing then hit Galleria store.
Quite why you would go to drink in the Hofbrau I have no idea, avoid it, its not that good.
Westpark is a lovely place to spend an afternoon.
Walk up from Marianplatz to Odeonsplatz and then up Ludwig/Leopoldstrasse (past the Merc and Aston dealerships) upto Freiheit as its the Munich equivalent of the Kings Road but 4-6 lanes wide and a superb pavement cafe culture either side.

What on earth is with this hofbrauhaus lark? The only time I've been in it since living in Munich was to watch Bayern lose to Real last yr I think. It's not that popular in Munich, it's not that good and it's not even regarded as that "interesting". So why on earth do a auslanders want to go there?

Damn it Pug! My ticket is booked for Weds but I've been sent to Italy instead You back in Munich anytime later in October?
Not as far as I know - two more trips to Frankfurt and then one to Hamburg.Might need to come back to interview though - so I'll let you know if I'm around!
BTW - has anyone ever heard of a German restaurant that only takes German credit cards before? I'm in a real backwards town here!
Dachau, as already said.
Deutsche Museum, as already said. But be sure to go to the smaller outlying one as well - which deals with 'transport'. It's a beautiful, well laid-out, airy museum with a LOAD of interesting cars, trains, motorbikes, aeroplanes and anything else to do with transport. I spent a day there and could have spent another one as well (didn't help that I had a stinking hangover ... something to do with the bierkellers.) It was the high point of a week spent there earlier this year.
Here's the link.
