Hi All

I'm back off to Phuket in February, and am starting to work on a plan for what to do while I'm out there.

We did most of the touristy stuff last time, so I'm really interested in finding out about some of the lesser known things to do.

We're staying in Rawai, and spending a good few days diving, so looking for some stuff to see and do on dry days...

We is Mrs Noname and I. We will have mopeds and possibly a proper bike for a day or two.

You might want to change the title of the thread just a little...

I went all over the place on my moped but can't remember the names of any of the places! I'd just explore until the petrol runs out.

I based myself in Old town.

Yeah, that's part of the plan.

I did manage to buy a whisky bottle of fuel at 2am last time I was there!

We're staying in Rawai this time, got a nice little villa on the beach, near the Wiset road.

I found Kata beach quite nice, south of Karon beach. Fairly small in comparison with other beaches, the Royal Phuket Yacht club is there. Did you go kayaking in Pha Nga Bay ?

Rememeber you can not legaly take a hired bike or moped over the bridge and out of the state, if you do you have no insurance. There is a good ride down the west coast of Phucket to the old lighthouse, used to be ok for lunch.

Yep, I stayed in Kata/Karon last time. Missed out on the yacht club. We did the kayaking at Phang Nga, cheers.

I was under the impression there was no such thing as insurance on bikes or mopeds, but good to know. I'll definitely take a look for the lighthouse though. Thanks

I don't think most moped riders are insured anyway as they don't have a motorcycle license.
