Thanks for all the great advice. Read taxis quite cheap (if 2 or more travelling)so are aiming to try and walk or get taxis

Staying in Soho so plan so far:
1) arrive late PM so taxi to Times Square for wander about then maybe evening meal at Smith & Wollensky
2) bus tour, lunch shake shack or Luke's. Shopping for the wife (bloom/Macy's) back to hotel then walk to little Italy for meal
3) breakfast at Le Meridien. Central Park, street hotdog, more shopping. Late PM top of the Roc. Back to Hotel then meal (grimaldis or Chinatown)
4) shopping (yes wife wears the pants here!) Shake/Luke's/Katz, Shopping. Back to hotel, walk Brooklyn Bridge. Meal little Italy or Chinatown
5) go home

The trip is for the wife as you can tell by the rough agenda, food for me!

Moma is open for free each Friday 4-8pm, well worth a visit.

I found the building more interesting than the artwork. One of my things is to always visit the relevant modern art museum wherever I go but I still don't get modern art, maybe one day.

They do free tickets every Tuesday after 5:00pm at the 9/11 Memorial Museum. They are released online two weeks before the relevant Tuesday and go fast. I would recommend it, quite harrowing but worth it.

Looks like a decent plan....

If you can squeeze in time for another burger then again at the Le Meridian they have an excellent place. You will see a line of people queing around a red velvet curtain. Behind the curtain is a a not so 'secret' place called Burger Joint- if you google it, you will see that it has a great following and highly rated by many and a new favourite of mine.....
