Jamaica next week... What to do.
Discussion
Dunn's Rivers Falls - is definately worth a visit -> this is where Cocktail was filmed.
We also did a river cruise to spot the brown crocs.
Beyond that - definately go into Negril and get out of the complex - and savour decent Jerk Chicken.
There is a plethora of water sports - we did a cruise and had a BBQ on a small island which was thoroughly enjoyable.
Rick's cafe is worth a visit to watch the locals dive off a natural cliff - this is a sunset activity. We both had a go diving into the 30ft drop - awesome and exhilirating.
Mo'Bay is worth visiting - but the roads in Jamaica are terrible and getting anywhere takes a while.
Finally, go up into the mountains and plant some herb! We hired a taxi driver for the day.
Drink as much Blue Mountain coffee as you can - it is out of this world.

Might just be people not wanting to be negative.
Marley's house is a long drive from Negril on some rough roads.
I'd be visiting the Blue Mountains if I went to Jamaica but I'd also be very wary of security. It can be pretty rough in the 'wrong' parts.
Its a shame but I think Jamaica is now a resort holiday where you don't leave your hotel.

Trickywoo, I did think that might be the case. From what I've read, Jamaica has certainly got rougher! The foreign office info on the island certainly makes entertaining reading!
5th highest murder rate in the world!
I'll be staying clear of trench town and the rest of Kingston. I'm not planning on going out anywhere without the correct guidance. Bob marleys house is something the OH wants to do, and I know it's about 3 hours drive from negril but you do stop at the falls on the way back as well as the Appleton estate for some rum tasting.
Hoping there are some decent water sports near the hotel.
