Unless some or all the passengers get up once the seatbelt light is switched off, everyone would be still sitting there...for days possibly.
Exactly, it's just common sense and efficient for folks in the middle to get up and ready and at least get their luggage.

It looks like most of PHs are so 'polite' that they would never dare to get up, there it goes:
- After you
- No, after you, please
- No, it's ok,
- No, I insist madam,
- Oh thank you, but after you sir
- But how about the other people, let's ask them...

Until the captain orders the poor souls to get up and leave the plane smile

Having only flown twice, yes really! I had a seat right at the back by the window. Both cases I just waited until everyone else was done smile Much less messing.

Nearly late for a connection and our fellow travellers were aware of our plight and shuffled us to the door quickly with many pats on the back and "good luck", we were up quickly for that one! Baggage was transferred so no need to pick up, just had to leg it across the airport for the flight back to blighty.

We aren't talking about people never standing up, just standing up when there's somewhere to go. When you've only just landed and can see the guy out the window trying to get up the energy to pull the steps over to the aircraft, let alone having done that, knocked on the door and done the paperwork - why stand up?!?

Do these people also stand behind the front door all day waiting for the postman like expectant dogs, or sit on the sofa and only get up you hear the post hit the mat?

I can only assume they are the same retards who will queue for days outside an Apple store to buy the latest piece of iCrap - rather than just reserving it online and walking in to the store when it opens, skipping the whole queue.

I don't get the people who rush to queue to get on the plane as soon as boarding starts. The plane won't be going anywhere.

My wife and I are the last people to leave the lounge to get on the plane and the last people to get back off it. Holidays aren't for rushing!!
I've had the misfortune to fly with a colleague on numerous occasions who has to be at the airport hours before required, first through security, first at the gate (standing at the gate entrance even before flight is called), first on the plane so they can stow their borderline size case in the locker, They don't check in baggage as they think their case will disappear, and its a waste of money. (Even though our company happily pay for checked baggage). And has to have a window seat. I've never been able to work this out as this person isn't a nervous flyer. Nearly made me one though!
