I'm looking for holiday destination suggestions for November. For my wife and I, beach holiday ideally.

We've been to Maldives twice now, and I'm finding it difficult to think of a destination that will match the Maldives (so maybe we will go there again!)

We've coupled the Maldives trips with Dubai and Abu Dabhi previously, so perhaps we can try another City this time.

I would welcome any suggestions.

Mauritius. We were there late november/early December last year and it was lovely. There's a few tours, dolphin watching, fishing etc if you get bored of the beach. We rented a car and drove around the island which was nice.

You can fly via Dubai if you wish, it's a bit cheaper but there are direct flights from both heathrow and gatwick.

I have not been myself but friends who like Dubai speak very highly of Singapore for a city stop off

That's the problem after you've been to the Maldives frown

Not surprised, both cities are boring and soulless and the only past times people seem to have there are shopping and eating.

Bahamas, not just the commercialised nassau, but try one of the out islands like eleuthera or Exuma, deserted miles of beaches.

We are off to eleuthera on friday, we did Exuma last year and it was brilliant, swiiming with sharks, thunderball grotto, and swimming pigs.

Mauritius. We were there this time last year. Beautiful place and perfect weather. Gets a lot hotter and much more humid as you get into Dec/Jan so Novemeber should be fine.

Doesn't compare to Maldives for the beaches and the snorkling/diving but there is more to do when you are there.

We're off to Thailand at the end of November and will be sticking to the west coast-apparently the east will be wet(er)

Having been to the Maldives I've not been anywhere that compares for a purely beach holiday.

Each to their own but I really didn't like Mauritius. True of many of these types of destinations but on renting a car and exploring found a lot of it to be a bit of st hole once you wander from the resorts. Huge problem with stray dogs and even got treat to the site of a dog having stones/chunks of bricks threw at it........

I didn't see a stray dog the whole time I was there and I left the hotel several times including cycling around the local towns.
