Hi,

Looking for some suggestions.
Taking the other half away in December for a weekend break and would like some pointers if possible. Looking for somewhere with reasonable flights and accommodation, ideally a decent Xmas market as that's mainly what were going for.

Had a quick check online and theres a few coming back reasonable but not 100% if its worth a shot, seems to be Madrid, Milan, Oslo and Brussels.

Brussels seems the obvious but flight times are shi7e and we are quite limited as she only has the one holiday left so its going to be a fri - sun or sat-mon trip.

Any recommendations?

Cheers

Two years ago, we ventured on a 4 day trip to the Christmas Markets of northern France. Lille Amens Arras etc which were OK.
Last year we went to the Christmas Market in Manchester, which despite my misgivings turned out to be brilliant by comparison.

Save yourself all the time wasting aggravation of a weekend trip abroad and book yourself into a nice hotel in the city centre. As well as the massive Christmas market there are plenty of interesting and up market stores for her to indulge in retail therapy and plenty of good restaurants, live music and comedy venues to keep you entertained.

Really? Manchester is my "local" Christmas market - it's rammed full of people, expensive, too many scallies, plastic glasses, hemmed in by security etc etc.

For the sake of a couple of hours hop on a plane.

Really. I stand by what I said. We had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend in Manchester and will be going again this year.
