Passport Renewal question...

Having done the paperwork online, I dropped the returned renewal form into the Post Office with new photo, paid for it to be checked and sent. That was Friday week before last. Text message on Monday to say it had been received, another on Wednesday to say it had gone for printing, got home to find my new passport had been delivered!

I did mine last month, was surprised at how quickly it got turned around. 7 days from them receiving it to me getting both the new one and the original back.
Mines was also counter signed as my pic on the old passport had specs on and the new ones have to be face furniture free.
I did go through the counter checking service though and paid for it all at the P.O.

As I understand it the delays were due to the "High season" (So my mate said who's working at the Home Office at the mo). As when I said, mate no idea what all the fuss was all about! Mine came back within 8 days total turnaround.

get it done online now you should be okay - dont really see why people need the post office to check youve signed your name on the papers , check your photo fits their requirements , most photo studios will do em for a fiver or so and make sure theyre acceptableAbout to go on long trip.
