I know you are only allowed 100ml but my aftersave is not labelled as such. Will common sense be applied or will it end up in the bin?

If over 100ml... bin.

Why do you think anything over 100ml would be allowed even if its aftershave?

If under 100ml then you can take it.

If the quantity is not labelled, bin it. It will be binned at the airport otherwise.

Common sense and airport security do not go together.

How large do you think the bottle is? If it looks large it MAY be picked up, but if it's not that big then don't worry. As above, if it is flagged and doesn't have a volume labelled, then expect to lose it.

If it's a 70ml bottle we're talking about then it should be fine - well under 100ml so won't get a second glance as it goes through the scanner. If it's 100ml but in a lot of glass, so looks big it may get pulled and binned.

Either put it in your hold luggage or decant some in to a smaller bottle - alcohol minatures do a good job, just rinse well so you don't get eau du Jack Daniels.

I don't think I am special exception to the rule. The bottle IS under 100ml but not labelled as such.

Doesn't matter, they don't take all your stuff out the plastic bag, hence it being see-through. They look to see if the bottle looks like it could be a 100+ml one, if so they will check it.

Stay under the 100ml, something like 50ml and they don't even do more than a quick glance.

Failing that buy some cheap smelly in the departures section.
