Hi all,

I'm looking at the below holiday options for Feb 2015.
My Wife has mentioned before that she wants to visit Cuba, I would love most places in the Caribbean, and we would both enjoy the East Coast of the US.
Weather wise the Caribbean would win, but I like the idea of the US multi City option.

Does anyone have any experience of using the trains in the US? Are they comfortable, will it be a pain with luggage, is it a 'safe' way to travel, anything I should be particularly concerned about?

They look like OK deals to me, and suit schedule as we are quite restricted on travel date and duration.

All thoughts / comments both positive and negative / other options welcome.

One is the richest country in the world, the other is one of the poorest. I'm not sure it's really an "either or" proposition. Comparing apples with paperclips.....

However, what I will say, is that going to Cuba and just sitting in an all-exclusive beach complex in Varadero and then having a day trip to Havana, completely misses the point of visiting Cuba. If you just wanted a beach resort holiday in the Caribbean, there are many, many more better options than Cuba.

Agree with that. Cuba on that basis is very much like a Spanish costa - in fact thousands of Canadians visit on that exact basis, its their costa del sol.

Also depending on where you go in Cuba that time of year it could be a lot colder than you may think. I went to Jibacoa in December and it was borderline chilly.

Thanks, the Cuba deal is 3 nights in Havana and 7 nights in Varedero.
Bit of culture and some sunbathing, just seemed like a reasonable deal.
Check the average temp for Feb and it's 22 degrees.
