Go to Scandinavia and look at the Northern Lights!! What's the difference between not being in control whilst on a Train or Ferry compared to Flying? (you still get Jihadist and Crazy Russians)

The point is it's an irrational fear.

the other stuff fk it.... I just fly with a good airline and drink copious g&ts
That's been my solution lately too, but how do you handle business trips?
You know the kind where you have meetings as soon as you land, probably fly in the morning so airline wouldn't offer alcohol anyway, and/or you are with other colleagues and therefore can't be seen as raging alcoholic?
mine are usually ME or Asia so i fly the day before, or have overnight flight.. so im sobre by the time i land.
I go hard for the champange in the concorde lounge at breakie, my colleagues think its funny.
I rarely fly with colleagues. Am usually 'happy' a couple of hours into the the flight and sober when landing. I mostly do 10 hr plus flights.

You can go quite a long way by train in a day or two.

I'm mostly black-out drunk or passed out when landing, hence why I need to find a different "solution"!

Get a few fear of flying books. They are hugely helpful on all aspects from the facts of airline safety to practical ways to manage anxiety and negative thought patterns.

Do you sit there tormenting your minds eye with images of you dying in hospital from serious food poisoning from the plane food ? No of course you don't but you have far greater chance of dying from your onboard meal than from a plane crash. Let the rational defeat the irrational. That's what works for me.

So, was just prescribed some Diazepam.
Flying Friday morning to Miami, 10hr flight.

Strategy is to sleep very little tomorrow night so that I'm knackered when I get on the plane.
What dose Diazepam do I need to be knocked unconscious for the whole duration of flight?
When to take? Should I avoid food and caffeine beforehand?
