Small remote cottage in Scotland

Well, we have Karnival coming up here in Germany and it's a time that I absolutely loathe. Stupid drunken idiots all being 'happy'
So I'm thinking about buggering off to a little remote cottage in Scotland (preferably on the coast), for 5 - 7 days, to sit and drink a wee dram whilst I contemplate the meaning of life.
Anyone know of anything or have any good tips on websites or where else to look please?

once you get north of ullapool then it's pretty remote! However, the western isles are very beautiful. The distilleries often have cottages, well Ardbeg on Islay does definitely. Also, check these out http://storm-pods.co.uk at lagavulin

Not stayed in any of the cottages but the Boathouse Restaurant was bloody lovelyI wouldn't say completely isolated and not totally alone, but it's a fabulous place overlooking the sound on a lovely island with lots to see and do. There's a pub/hotel at the end of the lane which is an easy walk. No sign of loonies - well not unless you're going in October.....

If you do call, tell Peter that you got the link from Pistonheads and give him my user name.

Not sure if you need family accommodation, because this is small, cosy, very quiet, decent pub about 200 yards away, and close to Glen Affric and Glen Strathfarrar (both of which are unutterably beautiful).
