Completely off topic - holiday rental in the UK?

Sorry for the completely off topic subject, but I am looking at renting a house/cottage/holiday home in the UK for two weeks the coming summer and thought I might get some good advice on here instead of the overly commercial websites.
Any suggestions as to where we should rent? It would be my better half, our 8 year old boy and our 1 year old daughter. I am dreaming about bringing the TVR Vixen, but....
Good location is more important than standard, however we would like to avoid trailer homes/caravan houses. Somewhere near the ocean where we can have a swim. I'm no Viking when it comes to water temps so preferably in the south(?).
We are looking at possibly week 28 and 29.
Any suggestions?

I don't think I consider anywhere in the UK 'warm' for a swim! Maybe I'm just a softie southerner though
There's loads of choice in the south of the UK. A left-field choice of mine is the Isle of Wight. Plenty of self-catering cottages etc, some nice scenery, walking, small towns and beaches. The coastal road on the south of the island is a nice drive too, great visibility and views! The ferry isn't too expensive if you book in plenty of time.

Lyme Regis & the rest of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site might be worth a look. Beaches, fossil hunting, interesting countryside.
