Florida - June - First visit, any tips?
Discussion
If visiting Disney we hired AAA car park passes from eBay which was cheaper than getting them once over there and got us parked at the front.
Kennedy Space Centre is a must, I loved it, went on bus tour past Apollo 11 launch pads, Saturn 5 rockets, shuttle, had lunch with Astronaut, just a great day.
Kissimmee Cruise night, just a few miles from Orlando and well worth it, lots of decent metal, typical touristy shops, decent bars.
Gatorland, it's got alligators, lots of them, nuff said.
Airboat on the Everglades, not 100% pure Everglades as thats a lot further south, but had a boat to ourselves, great guide, saw gators, wild beasts, very good.

We really fancy a winter break in Florida say between November and March and would probably look towards the Gulf Coast. What month would you recommend for settled temperate weather?
March would be my recommendation.Called into the Fish, on Monday afternoon, but I'm presuming you weren't there.
We arrived back from Florida (our first visit) about 10 days ago. Other than lots of shopping (zzzzzzz) the main things we did were:
- Universal studios
- Epcot
- Kennedy Space Centre
- Cocoa beach on the Atlantic Coast
Kennedy was the stand out day trip for me and the only place I could have stayed at for longer. I only wish I'd have been able to see the launch that took place two days after we arrived. I considered it as it was pencilled in for 10pm but knew I hadn't adjusted to the time difference yet. As it turned out it lifted off at 2am.

We have been going to Florida every other year since the kids were old enough to go on the smaller park rides.
I won't comment further on any advice being given already, but one of the best trips we have been on so far was a Florida Dolphin Tour to Key largo.
For not much more than you would pay for a Discovery Cove dolphin experience (you get 20mins as part of a group there), you get:
Day one coach pickup and drive down to Key Largo.
About an hour in the water with your own dolphin, literally playing with them, whilst they bring you the odd gift and push you around the pool etc. This is a bucket list thing.
Evening/Overnight stay in Key Largo in a hotel with a big pool. options to go out on a boat trip.
Day two morning trip to a gator farm, with live gator/snake shows and an inclusive airboat ride through the glades.
The afternoon in Miami, where you can shop, or do the boat tour of Star Island and look at all the mega-houses.
Coach drop off back home.
This is just an example picture from their website of how close you do get :
