Hi All,

Can you recommend a travel insurer who has a good reputation & customer service for worldwide travel insurance?

Tried price comparison sites, but the hits are for companies with woeful customer service according to internet reviews. Thus, your firsthand experience will be insightful.

I believe Liverpool Victoria have a good reputation, although I purchase from them I have never claimed though, might be worth some googling.

I had to claim on travel insurance last year due to a genuine unforeseen event covered within the insurers policy, and they have made the claim process the longest and most drawn out horrible experience imaginable.

I'll never use Insure and Go again and would encourage others to obtain some claims experience before buying, rather than just buying based on what their policy covers as it all looked great until I needed it.

Insure and Go

Cover worldwide, cover you including various ailments, and cover you for activities that other companies consider dangerous

I came off a mountain bike in Canada, breaking 3 ribs (alhtough this was undiagnosed at the time) - had no issues with them, they were happy to fly me back business class due to the back injury, and provide a car in the UK to take me directly home as I was unable to carry bags etc

Actual experience for my parents.

They've used Staysure for the last few years, 18 months ago my Dad had to be taken off ship (cardiac arrest) and taken to a hospital in Norway. They were fantastic, put my Mum in a hotel near the hospital and really looked after her,In contact with her all the time.
No hassle or grief,Just what need when things are going wrong.
Flew them both back to the UK, Norwegian doc said it would be about £100,000 for treatment and repatriation.
10/10 for looking after two nearly 80 year olds.

Insure and go have a good reputation for claims and prices, auto renew is cheap to but they messed that up last year for me so ended up switching.

With axa this year who offer more sports as standard.

Many of those "free travel insurances" given with credit cards and bank accounts are free for a reason; because they're not worth paying for.

Yep always worth doing due diligence on any insurance policy before taking it out, so that applies to all policies free or paid for.

I have the nationwide one and to my untrained eye seems to cover everything I need. http://www.nationwide.co.uk/products/current-accou...

My house insurance also covers me for some things too world wide, like mugging/robbery etc.
