Worst time to drive over Easter?

Hi. Booking a last minute long weekend away over Easter. Thinking of going either Thursday or good Friday then coming back following Easter Monday or Tuesday. Travelling from Midlands to S Wales.

What are the anticipated hot spot dates and routes to avoid?

We went last Easter and found Shrewsbury a complete faff to get around but appears to be like that most of the time. However once past, the road freed up and had some good traffic free flowing roads. Arrived with smiles and very hot tyres. Only spoilt by some t***** scratching the car in the hotel carpark. At the moment iwe are in Cardiff and planning a route home to Tamworth via Breacon Beacons. Hope you have a good time.

When I was travelling around with work, I always found the Thursday before Easter was the worst day of the year for traffic congestion!!
