Hi all, may be off to London next week to take MRS Chippy to see Charlie and the chocolate factory. Was thinking of stopping in the Waldorf Hilton, not been to the big smoke too often and being a petrol head i am worried about parking the big red donkey.

So has anyone stopped at said hotel and how do they Valet park your pride and joy?

I am picturing scenes from ferris bueller's day off rofl

Traffic in central London is miserable on a good day. That hotel is just round the corner from Kingsway, currently closed because of the underground utilities fire. Consequently traffic is gridlocked in that area, at almost any hour. I just would not drive there.

If you drive I would suggest parking in the underground car park at Trafalgar Square. Secure, plenty of spaces, hideously expensive but then so is everywhere else. Don't go near The Strand or Kingsway right now. Ten minute walk to the hotel from there.

I used to drive to London if ever I was going down, as I hate the train. However halving both journey leg times, and not having to fk around with parking means we get the train now.

The Rosewood is nearby, not bad at all and the "Valet" parking is onsite, about 10 yards from the entrance.
