Marche or Abruzzo. Love Tuscany and Umbria but the Adriatic side is peerless. Best place on Earth.

Few years back now but we rented ours through Individual Italy. Looking at there website now seems like they've been taken over by James Villas / Wyndam.

Did a two centre/week holiday, flew to Pisa, collected hire car and first villa near Sienna, second near Lucca. Absolutely loved it and want to go back.

www.villayar.com is offering 10% discount to all bookings that have a membership profile on Pistonheads.

Private pool, sea view from all rooms, private pool, Jacuzzi and terraces overlooking the bay. Sleeps up to ten.
Worth a look if you want a change?

Tuscany is quite touristy in the obvious places, but if you go 20km further it is very quiet. The beaches are not what people go for, so bear that in mind. The South is quieter than the North, we had three years in a row near Volterra and I can't wait to go back. It didn't suit my kids though who are now 1 and 3.

They say Umbria is just as nice and about 50% cheaper. Places like Siena and San Gimignano and are utterly stunning and pure culture.

I can recommend this villa in the South, we went there twice: Casa Eduardo

Well it's a good way fron Tuscany and is near Bari but I've booked this place. Owner does indeed seem like a good chap and the reviews look good so fingers crossed.

Will report back in August.
