only you can know if you have enough coverage, too many variables for us to tell you and we don't know if you will operate the vehicle in accordance with the rental agreement. That being said and with the addition that this is not advice and i am not a financial adviser but just some random poster on the internet.

LDW will allow you to hand back the keys to a crushed cube, fill out the paperwork and get on your flight.

LIS is your third party coverage above state minimum requirements, so the natives can sue you for injury and property up to $1m and you wont be eating baked beans for the rest of your life.

Typically this will be enough assuming you have good travel insurance that covers your medical expenses and personal property, but there are limitations and exclusions to LIS which only you can decide if you are happy with the level of coverage.

Normally if you book via the .co.uk site then you get all the necessary insurances included.

Although on my last trip to the USA the desk clerk tried to sell me additional 'tow truck insurance' in case I broke down miles from anywhere. Not sure how legit that is.

cheers i thought it was all we needed but as there all these different terms i thought it better to ask previously ive just had the bundled car with naff all and had a third party policy to cover it. this is the first time of me booking a separate car and as herts dont call it cdw etc was getting slightly confused.

most people will be happy with what you have included , be prepared they will give it some sales talk to make it sound like you have no cover and no break down cover blah blah , check what you sign for carefully as some will add stuff even when you say no
