Me and the mrs have a night in York booked on bank holiday Sunday next weekend, and I'm just after any recommendations for nice pubs / bars / restaurants to head for.....? I've been to York once before, but that was on a boozy lads day at the races, and needless to say, the evening was a bit of a blur! I'm expecting that things will be a bit more civilised this time....!

We always go here for a late lunch in York. Relaxed atmosphere, good prices and huge portions of food...

Lucias. Cracking grub, lovely place, massive selection of cocktails!

Bettys, expect much queuing and wallet rapage...

This. A thousand times this. It's on Stonegate, just down from the Minster (which is also a great place to go, if you're that way inclined). The food in 'The Trembler' is also very good.

Thanks for the ideas guys!

I've heard about the 'House of Trembling Madness' before, that's definitely on the list!
The Lamb and Lion and Oscars look good for a bite to eat too. Her dog is called Oscar, so that one could well be a winner, and save my wallet a trip to Betty's.....!

Will give Lucias a look for a cocktail or 3 later on as well!
