Not the hotel but I know the area fairly well and I've just come back from there. What do you want to know ?

The area I couldn't really care about, just the hotel.

In that case why not just book into the holiday inn on the chiswick high road ? You'll save a shedload in cash, not to mention airfares.

I have stayed there. This was last March when I think it had only been open a couple of Months.

It only has 20 or so rooms which for an AI is pretty unusual. I think all of the rooms are similar and all face the ocean. I'm struggling to remember our room to be honest, but I'm sure it was nice enough.

I always struggle offering opinions on levels of hotel service because I don't consider myself that demanding, but to me it was good. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The food I would class as good if not outstanding. There are no buffet style services at any of the meals and the menu, though limited (3 or 4 choices) changes daily (except for breakfast).

The bar doesn't serve premium spirits. I always think this is a bit mean, especially regarding the Rum which is distilled locally and costs about £6 a litre in the supermarket!

The pool and its surrounding area is small, so it's not somewhere that you can find a spot far away from the hotel building. The beach and coastal boardwalk are immediately next to the hotel boundary. There is a breakwater that makes the sea good for swimming - the ocean on the south coast can be choppy which is why the west coast is generally preferred for swimming, but it made no difference here (I've previouslt stayed on the west coast).

It's also on a main road, but that didn't bother me at all. Handy for catching the bus which we did a few times.

The Garisson Savannah race course is close by. There are races every other Saturday I think. We went and enjoyed it in a chaotic Barbados kind of way! The Barbados motor museum is close too. I didn't visit though.

I love Barbados anyway, but we had a good time. In fact, I now recall that after we moved on to a different hotel for the second part of our trip, my Mrs lamented that we weren't back at SoCo.

Any specific questions, let me know and I'll try to help.
