One week and I'll be on the A26, just heading past Reims, destination St Sorlin d'Arves. Never been there before but the cams look good, 50cm forecast this week and possibility of another metre whilst we're there. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas biggrin

Also forecast for high winds, so most lifts will be closed.

Can now count down in days; should be at the top of the Zugspitze in Garmisch on Friday morning. Forecast for the last week and next looks like there's been a constant snowfall so should be good. Will then watch conditions and grab a long weekend after Easter wherever the snow is.

Doing half term again this year. Picking up the wee man from school on Friday and heading straight out. Got a room in Dijon Friday night that means we should be in Avoriaz before most of the transfer crowds

La la la, I can't hear you. Besides, that's not what my forecast says at all.

2 weeks ago I was in Samoens with the wife.
Tomorrow I'm heading out to Les Carroz with my son.
In 3 weeks time I'll be back in Samoens with the wife then back there a month later with son and daughter.

Can't have too much mountain life.

Well, having got home yesterday from a fabulous week in Courchevel I have just booked a week in La Plagne for early March. This self-employed lark has its up-side. smile

I'm pretty certain every full time employee is entitled to 7 days holiday, which is the total I'm taking off for skiing. If you're not getting that then you might want to think about switching jobs.

I'm off to Baqueira Beret next week, looking forward to it.

I've not been there before; anyone got any tips etc?

Cheers

European school holidays start this week and go on throughout February. Also carnival is this week, many go to the slopes during this time.

Forecast for the northern alps is looking pretty good with heavy snowfalls between now and the weekend, and then sun/cloud next week

Hopefully get a couple of sunny days, as I'm picking up a range of skis and have some clothing being delivered for test and review, and it would be nice to have some good shots of them in use

Testing the range from Meier, a small Colorado based company that do hand-made skis using locally and naturally sourced wood (ie not felling trees FOR ski manufacture, but using wood acquired from the forest management process)

I've not tried the DPS Cassairs personally, but both those and the Wailers are excellent skis from those I know who have tried them

It is worth getting the Pure rather than the Hybrid if your budget can stretch

Ive got the pure 3s in them already. Somebody else on here has them as well and thought it could have been you.

How long are you testing skis for?
