A few weeks spent in Geneva apart, every other business trip has been ste. I'd probably need to be into the 45% tax bracket to consider regular international travel as an employee.

I have withdrawl symptons. Last year I was doing the whole of EMEA, now it's just southern England.

That's how fast my company has grown! frown
You still get to work with me.. wink

Greetings from Newcastle. With 45mph winds forecast at both NCL and LHR tomorrow, place your bets on how late I'll be home?
Currently waiting to take off and go to London. Currently sitting with a 1hr delay and counting...

Normally I don't generally like long trips away, as I've mentioned before, but I'm off to Canada (Ottawa) tomorrow for 4 weeks.

The plus side is that I'll have more non-work days than work days, and it's somewhere pleasant and safe, rather than the utter hole I last did a month in that wasn't really all that safe to leave the hotel and go far away alone.

Quite looking forward to it for a change.

Rent a car and check out Kingston (very British), Thousand Islands, Montreal, Toronto and your only about 4 hours away from Niagara and some very nice Vineyards on the way smile

I'll do that, thanks for the suggestions.
I think I have a 5 day break in just over a week so it'd be good to get out and about. Mind you, it looks as though there's loads to do in town anyway.
Been to Niagara before, although it's always worth a trip I think.

2 days
2 sirloin steaks
A number of pints of weissbier
1 Fiat 500L hurl
2 looooong, tedious and argumentative meetings with no clear conclusion or achievement
Nearly missing the flight thanks to German traffic
A long queue at passport control at this end
A blast home in the mx5 sans roof driving
And finally I'm back in my own bed.

Fiat 500L is by far and away the worst hire car I have ever been served up. Where on Earth did Fiat find the diesel engine from – some long forgotten production run from the 50’s which was rediscovered in an old warehouse in Turin, is my best guess. 78mph flat out…..

I had a Tata in Cape Town once. Could barely cope with the hill on the N2 on the way out. More like a tin can with 4 wheels and a lawn mower engine.

To be fair, I wound the old girl up to 170kph on ze autobahn with no real drama. I think it was a 1.6D.

A yr spent suffering Fiat 500L hire cars through some of the best driving country in Italy forced me to buy an SLK55 in sheer recompense. This is the excuse I used with the wife and amazingly enough - she went for it smile....

....had to buy her a new dog hauling estate also, but thats an acceptable cost isn't it?!
