Afternoon all, i have promised my wife a weekend away and i am going to try Bruges...

any suggestions for a really nice, modern...sorry to use the word but 'boutique' type hotel. once a year thing and only for 2 nights so cost not so important.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as we are supposed to be going next month so i've got to bet booking!!

I've used this one in the past : http://www.weinebrugge.be/en/home-3.html

A little out of town, but very comfortable.

Kempinski Dukes Palace is fantastic. Right in the centre of town too.

Stayed here almost exactly a year ago to the day. Beautiful little boutique hotel situated right next to the river and in the centre of town with main square etc two minute walk away. Service was spot on too. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

Look at Hotel Navarre too.

And the Garre Bar.

Something a little different, slightly out of town but an easy 5-10 min walk

One of the nicest hotels in Belgium I've stayed in, we had a suite with a great view

http://www.hoteldukespalace.com/

right in the heart of the city, just a short stroll to the main square
underground parking, perfect for eurotunnel blat to Belgium

Would stay again in a heartbeat smile

I've always used Martins. It's probably not posh enough if you're after boutique, but it's in a brilliant position right in the centre, and is very reasonably priced.

Also been here. Little bit of parking if you let them know in advance. Good location and lovely accommodation.

Stayed here many times also and rate it highly. They also have a nicely spaced modern underground carpark unlike ever other hotel in Bruges I've used.
