This Summer, I am bringing the wife back to the UK for a family wedding then we have a bit of time to take a trip around Europe.

Any comments or recommendations on firstly the route and more importantly hotels.
This is sort of a honeymoon, we were married last year and have only been to Lombok and Bali in the meantime.
Car will be a BMW 435d so plenty of comfort and room for luggage.

Day 1 - Gosport to Eurotunnel, straight down to Epernay. Arrive Epernay early evening. Stay at Hotel Jean Moet.

Day 2 - Stay in Epernay for a second night, go on a champagne house tour during the day and get sozzled in the evening - any recommendations on a champagne house to visit?

Day 3 - Epernay to Grenoble, stay at hotel Okko.

Day 4 - From Grenoble along Route Napoleon to Monaco. Not sure where to stay in Monaco, 1 night only, may look to AirBnB when it gets a bit closer, possibly even just visit Monanco and then stay outside of the principality.

Day 5 - Monaco to Milan, lunch in Milan and handbag shopping for SWMBO. Any recommendations for value fashion house tat? Prada etc... After lunch and handbags drive to Lake Como. Currently thinking of Hotel Florence, stay for 3 nights to include my birthday.

Day 6 & 7 - Lake Como, have a birthday on day 7 party

Day 8 - Take in 4 alpine passes, Gotthard, Furka, Grimsel & Susten and then to Leichtenstein. Hotel in Leichtenstein, not yet looked.

Day 9 - Leichtenstein - Nurburgring, recommendation for hotel near the ring?

Day 10 - 'Do the Ring' in the morning, not sure whether to rent a vehicle or to take the 435. After lunch drive to Ghent via the E314. Stay in Ghent overnight. Hotel unknown.

Day 11 - Ghent to Calais and then back to Dorset for 2 nights before flying back to Jakarta.

Any thoughts on must see touristy stuff? This is predominantly an excuse for the wife to get some countries visited. She hasn't travelled much outside of Asia, it would also be nice to see some memorable stuff as well as me enjoying some of the potentially wonderful roads.
Ghent was a curveball thrown at me, could have been Antwerp but I've already been and it's a bit poo imho.

Trip is over the last 11 days of July so the weather should be fine.

Thanks for you help.

If you recall an earlier post, I can't be bothered to get up to Derby to pick up the DB7, hence the BMW in its place now.
