Like any other flight class, you dress for comfort & suitable for the weather at your destination

I really can't believe that you feel the need to ask! rolleyes

From experience, for a long flight like this, wear something very comfortable and loose!

If you are that worried take a look at the shapeless pyjamas BA give out in 1st that a fair number of people wear for the whole flight. It's about comfort not style.

I was just pricing up a few flights and came upon the FAQ section of BA's website. Apparently this is their ideal:-

That's about the smallest size BA do as well!

Ah yes - let's not confuse "I've paid for business class, what should I wear?" with "I'm looking for a free bump up, what should I wear?" hehe

For a daytime flight, a morning coat. For an evening flight, white tie. If flying somewhere as far as Australia, you will need both.
This is both correct and accurate. In particular it is frowned upon to wear anything in addition to these items of clothing. Wearing trousers and pants will most certainly mark you out as a nouveau arriviste.

Socks are permissible though, in case you have verrucas or athlete's foot.

I've flown business in shorts, flops and a t-shirt. It's only you that's worried!
Last time I flew Emirates business class there was guy in a Liverpool shirt and bermuda shorts, so whatever floats your boat is OK.

Wife beater, hoodie, shorts and flip flops for me unless I'm expected in a meeting at the other end straight off the plane.

I'm just back from the Maldives via Emirates BC and flew wearing shorts/tshirt/flipflops.

The Glasgow to Dubai leg of the journey had a few more "suits".

Wear what you want as your paying to be on that flight wink

I've always dressed like crap whatever class I've flown in. You do get looked at by some folk but you'd be amazed by the state of some people flying business class and above.

Money doesn't mean you have to dress well.

If you intended to use the business lounges before the flight check what they accept as some will not allow shorts or football tops

Are you sure you weren't on the Ryanair site?

Myself and my brother were flying to Vancouver in December for a snowboarding holiday, and as such were dressed like teenagers. I think we both checked in wearing jeans and hoodies, but by the time we got to the gate (where we got bumped from premium economy to business) we were wearing shorts and joggers. Nobody gave us the evils, nobody looked funny at us and everybody was nice.

I once got upgraded from cattle to business and then at the last minute to 1st, because I turned up at the airport in a suit.

Me and a mate decided to give it a try and just took carry on luggage. We were picked out of the cattle check in queue and told to check in with business and then our boarding passes were taken off us at final boarding and replaced with 1A and 1B.

This was in the 90s and it was Saudi Air so no booze and the only other people in 1st were a sheik with loads of his badly behaved kids.
