BA's 747s that are used on this route don't have at-seat power in the peasant seats. What strategies do PH's restless travellers have for surviving long haul flights?
When are you thinking of going? The 747's from August will have IFE upgrade which includes USB power in sardine class. It will be pot luck for a while to get an airframe that has had it done.Personally I do booze and sleeping pills - go see your doctor for some, rather than the over the counter ones which don't work.

BA has some amazing historic aviation documentaries on its AVOD system, ranging from check flights on a VC-10 to the process of getting ready for the overnight stay of a pre-war flying boat in Arabia. I thoroughly recommend working through them!
Never found those - will have to have a look next week, that sounds interesting!Having just completed a trip Southampton – Edinburgh – Amsterdam – Guangzhou – Daqing, here is my 10 cents worth
Noise cancelling headphones (a must)
Fully charged laptop, tablet, phone and USB battery pack.
External hard drive, with a decent TV series or two, like “The Bridge” or “House of Cards” I find this works better than films.
Good book
Some good food, snacks, so you are not dependent on the muck, airlines call food.
Fluids purchased air side.
Hooch in moderation (I like to arrive with a clear head)
Comfortable clothing

I flew to LA a few weeks ago and had the best time, got talking to the person next to me and ended up with a new friend, normally I just plug myself into the films but this time only watch one film and read a bit on my IPad but have never known a flight go so fast, the rest of the time we talked.
OK guess that is a bit random and down to chance but I cant remember the last time I had such an enjoyable flight

I usually have a little chat and it always makes the first hour or so of the flight fly by. Usually if I am flying to/from the States I can have a good chinwag with an American flyer. Chatty buggers, they are.OK guess that is a bit random and down to chance but I cant remember the last time I had such an enjoyable flight
Noise Cancelling headphones help also, and don't load up on food pre flight. I always enjoy eating on flights.
