Paddy's modus operandi and that of ISIS are somewhat different.MO doesn't matter, when you're dead you're dead. You could stay at home and still get blown up.
Tosser.

Since when did the IRA target overseas holiday resorts known to be popular with Brits?
Since when did the IRA have influence from Morocco all the way to the Far East?
To compare any of the Irish groups to ISIS and all their little wizards shows an unbelievable ignorance of the entire thing.
D'you read The Star per chance, or the Daily Sport?
This thing about "I could get blown up just as easily at home" is a little bit sensationalist. UK-based security and intelligence is light years ahead of that in certain parts of the world, we simply never get to hear about it.
If it really was that easy, why haven't we seen anything significant on UK shores since 7/7?

The point you seem to fail to understand is that you can die pretty much any day, when your times up it's up. Just ask Lee Rigby. Oh wait, you can't.
You can't let terrorists rule your life, it's not the English way.
"Launch in to one"?
Go and dry your eyes Princess. If you offered me the advice that the IRA never got you so ISIS aren't worth considering as a risk, I wouldn't just roll my eyes at you, I'd tell you to your face that you're talking complete bks.
The IRA, and their opponents for that matter, have/had a clearly defined political agenda, a strict rank structure and a process of seeking approval and authority (however warped that may have been) for proposed action.
These ISIS nutters are just that....complete fking fruit-loops who do not give a flying fk.....about you, me, themselves, or anything else.
I take it an armchair expert such as yourself is aware that most of these jihadist lone wolf types are usually off their heads on something illegal when they carry out their attacks?
I'm not sure the upper echelons of the Irish parties would've tolerated quite such a liberal and freelance attitude to paramilitary operations.
Finally, if you don't want people rolling their eyes at you, don't post cobblers. There's a dear.

Not a fking chance. I went in August about 7 years ago and you can really see why it's cheap. Checkpoints everywhere, everything half-built, no real things to see, searingly hot, full of horrible pissed Russians, nama bay manufactured town full of aggressive tat-pedlars, pissing out your arse so violently you get haemorrhoids.... And now the very real likelihood of getting murdered....

I'm not the one who's afraid of the big bad terrorists. You should have been in Belfast during the troubles, you'd probably have a different opinion of how it was.Go and dry your eyes Princess. Accidentally ending up on the Shankhill road on English plates was far more risky than Sharm.
So how many times have you actually been there?

I don't want to go on holiday to places where somebody carrying a bag worries me.
There's plenty of safer places to go so why risk it.

You have migrants flooding europe from the I.S recruiting grounds do you honestly think none of these people on the boats are islamic state members?

I have to say that normally I would fly in the face of this kind of crap, but there's no way I'd risk my family by taking them to Egypt, Turkey, Cyprus, Tunisia etc. at the moment.
Plenty of other places to go on holiday.
Jesus wept. On that basis fk going to Blackpool, Skegness, Whitby in fact barricade yourself inside and don't leave until it's safe.Plenty of other places to go on holiday.
Just back from a week in Bodrum. I'd go back again tomorrow.
With the exception of Northern Cyprus, it's a Christian country.

You utter, utter clown.

Interesting post... it did get me thinking...
I think we all do our own 'Risk Assessment' in anything we do...even what car we drive.. I never really considered Paris risky... or even Madrid.. or Boston.. Kenya was on the edge.. But I'm an evidence based sort of chap.. and despite its shortcomings wikipedia has recorded a comprehensive list of incidents... see here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_%28non-state...
I think you might see an overwhelming slant... So for me.. MENA and certain bits of Asia are out for now... I would not risk it... especially if you have kids.
I also understand the gung ho WTF attitude and to some extent I agree, we should not let these people who perpetrate such acts rule our choices on what we do.. But this life is a jungle and I'm in the self preservation camp..
Crossflow.. Winston Chill out guys..
Pincher ... up to 4 hours from the UK are the most amazing places.. Try somewhere different...
Cheers
