We stayed in Fowey about 3 or 4 years ago. Really nice town but would recommend not driving down the steep hill into the busy single lanes in the town.
Sit out by the water at the back of the Old Quay House Hotel with a cold drink and watch the world go by. Very relaxing.
Will definitely be back one day.

Ive just got back from a week at Gwithian Farm Campsite, which is excellent. Very friendly and excellent facilities. It just gets better. Have stayed there every year for the past 6 years. Gwithian Beach, several cafes within walking distance, Seal spotting at Godrevy, Red River Pub, BBQs on the beach, spot of Surfing, St Ives, Minack Theatre for Carmen, Boat Charter for Fishing, Porthminster Beach Cafe, muchos Cornish Ale/Rattler Cider..
Also stayed a night at Treen Farm for the first time and can recommend that site. There was a lovely 1970s orange 911 there whilst we were. Another very friendly site and great village pub, superb beach on doorstep.
roof down all the way there and back from Kent. A superb holiday in the sunshine

Best beach in Cornwall Kynance Cove, it's a bit of a hike and check the tide times.
Great campsite just around the corner too HENRYS.

Also Mother ivy bay, great campsite with its own beach.
We stayed here last Oct for week, anyone care to guess where?

I have lived in Cornwall since the early 90s, areas around Penzance, Truro, Redruth and Hayle. Mostly beautiful, but in February this year we moved to Mawgan, just south of Helston. The Lizard peninsular is without a doubt the most beautiful, serene and calming area I have ever had the pleasure to be.
The views, the people, the pubs, the schools; it is truly a fantastic place to be.
It's strange to me how, in the twenty odd years I have been down here, this is the first time I have ever really explored this part of Cornwall.
There are some lovely places in Cornwall, but here is my favourite. And you can eat like kings!
If you have not sampled it, try Helford, St Keverne, Coverack, Housel Bay, Kynance and Gunwalloe.

We holidayed as a family on the north coast (Newquay and Crantock) several times a year for the first 20yrs of my life.
In those days (1972-92) Newquay was a traditional British seaside town, lovely beaches and a small mecca for surfing in the UK, absolutely wonderful. I have great memories of long summer holidays, rain or (mostly) shine, good times. I went back recently and found it had become some kind of spring-break/stag do hell on earth at night, all a bit depressing compared to how it used to be.
Newquay's done a lot to attract a different type of visitor in the last few years. And whilst there's still a vibrant nightlife, it's becoming less of Newquay's defining feature. In those days (1972-92) Newquay was a traditional British seaside town, lovely beaches and a small mecca for surfing in the UK, absolutely wonderful. We had our work's summer BBQ down on Lusty Glaze on Friday. I feel pretty lucky to have this 10 minutes walk away.
I lived in Porthleven for 5 years between 1978 and 1983 then Ruan Minor until 1986. I have a place in Porthleven but don't often get to it.

I live here in Cornwall and consider myself to be extremely fortunate. (I also sell some of the best traditional ice cream but I don't want to be accused of shameless self promotion) There are lots of gorgeous beaches, places to see and you don't need to pay a penny. The people are friendly and drop into Philps' in Hayle and you can get some of the best pasties there are.
Once you've had a pastie, head from Hayle to St Ives and take the B3306 for a hoon. Mind you, in peak season just after sunrise is best and I often take my M3.

There are lots of local fairs and shows coming up too.
