Pasties - Forget Rowes. Philps in Hayle (and a few other villages have small outlets) or Horse & Jockey in Helston.
Beaches - Kynance as already mentioned - Porthcurno is lovely too, as is Poldhu (though is a little gravelly). Coverack is a top place for Fish & Chips sat on the front!
Pubs - Ship Inn at Mawgan (not St Mawgan) near Helston. They do a top steak. Also Black Swan in Gweek. Sunday lunch? Halzephron - not a carvery but i doubt you will be disappointed. The beef is excellent.
Attractions - difficult as most are crap really, but Healey Cider Farm is ok - but get their scrumpy and Rattler from tesco as it is cheaper! Paradise Park is disappointing (read expensive) but ok for kids and watching chavs - the live bird flying show is ok.
Newquay is arse. Falmouth is poor. Penzance is ok especially for fishing trips (look for Mermaid near the waterside meadery) - oh and of course try a meadery or two.
Oh and if you like good cheap Chinese - Dynasty Restaurant between Penzance and Helston (near Goldsithney) - all you can eat buffet 11.00 per person. Book though as it got busy most evenings in the summer.
There is a good new Italian near Helston too - in Gweek and called Zuchinnis. A bit out of the way but is good, and has a great view of Culdrose.
Nice hotel - Merchants Manor in Falmouth.
If i think of any more I will let you know.

Currently staying near Wadebridge this week. I used to come to Cornwall when I was young and my wife has never been so nearly 40 years later I am back. Still as beautiful as ever but so crowded now. Went to Padstow yesterday and it was too full to get so went on to Port Isaac and Polzeath. Walking around Port Isaac in the sunshine was great and parking in Polzeath was easy. We will get up earlier to try and get into Padstow tomorrow !

Dull January Morning from our room at the Pedn Olva in St Ives - These guys do some fantastic deals in Jan! We go each year to overcome the blues after Xmas.
We stayed at Pedn Olva a year or two back, end of Jan or beginning of Feb, haggled hard & got a (small) double room with a stunning view over Porthminster Beach. The waves were breaking virtually right under our balcony. Easy walk into town, hotel a great place to eat - would go back again & would recommend it to anybody else.
We're off to St Ives for a weekend with the kids & dogs in about 3 weeks, OH & I were down there recently for a helo ride over St Ives bay - a must do if you ever get the chance, the views are incredible.
Every time we've camped in Cornwall the weather has been ste & we've come home early.

easiest way to escape the crowds is to go somewhere you can't drive to.Port Isaac yesterday

I'm a bit out of touch with Cornwall fancy this for a November break. We like small places (used to go to years ago St Mawes and loved this0
So looking for a cottage just a stroll from a huge beach for dog walking, in small a cutesy village with a couple of pubs.
Any recommendations for the village?

Coverack, Ruin Minor or Cadgwith! So looking for a cottage just a stroll from a huge beach for dog walking, in small a cutesy village with a couple of pubs.

Coverack isn't a bad shout and is in a nice quiet area of Cornwall. Lots of good coastal walks within a few miles too....we hired a house in St Keverne a couple years back, made a nice change.
However if you fancy day tripping out to some of the bigger towns it's bit of a drive - although Helston/Penzance/Falmouth aren't a million miles away!

This is one of my fave drives in Cornwall. Especially at sunrise or just after.
