Self employed person here who can't take a proper holiday. Can you recommend a hotel with superb food, (for me) which also has a swimming pool for the Mrs. We live near Cambridge, so within 200 miles to give the Aston some exercise. drivingbiggrin Thanks.

Depends what your looking for, but we enjoy the Hoste Arms in Burnham Market, also the Maison Talboth in Dedham Essex is very nice, The Hoste has no pool but the sea of course, Talboth has an outside pool and a sister restaurant about a mile away but they will take you and pick you up.

They are pretty close to you so im sure others will know nice places a bit further away

Am in a similar position to you. Wickwoods, close to the South Downs. Was there earlier this year. Returning later this year.

Swimming pool and spa for the wife.

Oh, the food's a bit "high brow" for a scruff like me: http://www.wickwoods.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015...

But they have bar food, too: http://www.wickwoods.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015...

Popular with families which may or may not put you off.

Dormy House, near Broadway in the Cotswolds. Great driving roads, great landscape, pretty villages, hotel has a gorgeous new spa and pool, plus you can drive up and down Fish Hill and time it right, Prescott Hillclimb is very nearby and has some great racing.

I was going to say this too. Dormy House had a better spa

Ellenborough Park is also good.
