So booked campsite January paying deposit. Purchased all the gear this being our first family holiday my son is 3 next month and my daughter 1.

Looking at the forecast it looks fairly grim. Never been in or around Penzance before but holiday was planned around sun, beach BBQ and general outdoor themed activities.

Anyone know what you can do in and around this area before I drive to London tomorrow aquire two passports and go abroad?

So St Michael's mount is right on your door step. Walk/get the boat over although you do have to pay to go up top.

I would avoid lands end it self but Cape Cornwall is lovely and just above is Botallack mines (the super famous mines near the cliffs, there are other bits though not quite so dangerous at the top of the cliff) which is one of my fav spots.

Porthcurno is a lovely beach and there is the telegraph museum (facinating place) in the cliff beside and the minack outdoor theatre at the top.

Trevaskis farm do great sunday roasts, poly tunnel strawberry picking and general open farm.

St Ives is 'nice', get the train in.

The Lizard area is lovely (go be the most southerly person). Kynance cove is well known but loads of other spots. Helford river. Porthleven is OK.

Falmouth is a great town, lots of good places to eat and drink, shops, big maritime museum with boats in, Pendennis castle, beaches etc..

Area around St Agnes is nice especailly near Chapelporth.

Eden project is a bit further but perhaps worth a visit if its raining.

If you are tempted by a day trip the Isles of Scilly I would say they are an amazing place to visit but a day trip is way too short.
