Has anyone ever had a Globetrotter case? I'm thinking about buying a smaller carryon version.

They do look stunning, however how long will it last looking stunning?

I don't have a Globetrotter suitcase but I have had two Globetrotter briefcases (different sizes)for about 30 years. That in itself tells you something! They've been all over the world with me fully loaded many a time, and never been a problem. They look battered and well used which is part of their charm. Don't be concerned by their paper machae construction: it's seriously tough. The only problem I've had is the spring in the lock latch has gone in one of the briefcases but it's not really serious and it's easy to get fixed.

Only problem with Globetrotter is the price...many £££s

We've had a couple for about 10 years, a little scuffed but imho that's how they should be, brand new looks a little, y'know, naff. So buy one and then boot it around the garden for a while, bit like you should treat a new waxy Barbour jacket.

Always get positive comments from check in staff and you never see another like ours on the baggage carousel!
