Wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a decent car hire company in Sydney. Hopefully one that doesn't charge as much in waivers as it does for the car hire. Thanks in advance.

I used Hertz, booked and picked up at the airport, don't forget your sat nav, if you have one, save a bunch on hiring one.

Used them 2 years ago and they were fine but as has already been said, take your own Satnav
or pay dearly to hire one from them.

And of course download the map before you go. Got mine on my TomTom, can't remember cost now, but too bad.

Enjoy your holiday.

Take out full insurance, I nearly didn't, and the day before I returned the Rav 4, I was reverse parking in a car park, the blips are getting closer, then "CRUNCH".

I knew I wasn't near the wall, but protruding down from the roof was a steel bar, god knows why. When I returned it the next day, the guy said without insurance they would have taken $3000 off my card to cover any costs involved.
