Thing is if your kids are screaming after 2 hours in the plane not sure how another 5-7 hours would go down with them plus how would you feel 7 -9 hours kids screaming banging your seat etc.

Sometimes there is absolutely nothing a parent can do to stop them apart from calm time - off the plane impossible on it though.

Eg few weeks ago my youngest 1 yo screaming crying non stop all night long nothing we could do just unwell

That's a very fair point. And it's nice to see that you are one of the considerate ones but the amount of small kids on the flight to Jamaica last year was unbelievable!

Done a couple of AI in Europe with 2 kids in tow

Holiday Village Rhodes - Butlins in the sun - horrid place but has great facilities for kids, naff food unless you are in the Deluxe area

Blue Lagoon Village in Kos - very very nice hotel, good food, selection of restuarants, decent drinks (not branded) and swim up rooms which I prefer

Blue lagoon Princess in Halkidiki this year - nice new hotel, food good again but lacked a bit of the wow factor for me

I'd love to do the carribean or Mexico but the weather can be a bit more hit and miss during the summer school holidays and i want 2 weeks of sun on my holiday, not dodging thunderstorms and rain

Some good suggestions on here though - currently looking for next year and wife wants to go back the the Village. Not many hotels offer swim up rooms so choice is limited

Never done one before. Popping my 'all inclusive' cherry in January. Mauritius for 2 weeks...

Fingers crossed it's not too horrendous smile
Please ensure drinks are included else it's going to hurt.
$20 a beer /small beer etc $80 for plonk
I don't recall Mauritius being at all pricey for food and drink - I was half board and remember drinking plenty of Phoenix lagers (great tag line - friendly moments).

Peak summer season 2 weeks 2 adults and what will be 2 children both 2 years old by the return flight home, all inclusive.

What minimum are we realistically looking at? Clearly do not want to go to a crap place and do like good food drink lots of space nice beach etc.

How cheap can we go?
Just pricing a few deals up and I'm seeing nothing but £6k at the bare minimum excl taxi tfr upgraded rooms

Holy fking st you boys fork over the green don't you.

All this talk of Thomson? Have you never tried booking yourself, either direct or through sites such as Booking.com?

£3k for 11 night in Crete?! We did the same for £250 half board each including flights. No it wasn't the Ritz but it was one of the best holidays we've had. Nice room, good food etc etc.

Stepping it up a notch, the Vila Gale in Madeira was only £450 for seven nights for the hotel, half board, champagne for breakfast. And that was a damn fine hotel.

Sure I'm quoting half board, but the all inc wasn't much more. We would just rather not spend our entire time in the hotel.

My best was a Neilson holiday to Syvota, Greece.

Ok it's not technically all inclusive, but it was amazing.

All breakfasts, lunches and 4/7 dinners included. Basic drinks with food only.

Loved the activity and everyone was really friendly!

Highly recommended!

I've worn out the keys on my keypad searching for holiday deals etc hehe

The conclusion we've come up with is when spending this ^^^ kind of money - look at the Caribbean. Our holiday to Crete was more than this ^^^ and it was poor. Next year - Barbados. fk it.

I reckon you could do somewhere like Almond Beach for £6k tops. Infact, speak to Karen @ http://www.tropicbreeze.co.uk/ if you want to do something special for sensible money. I can't recommend her enough smile

I'm sitting here with my jaw on the floor.

We typically go to Greece in June and have never paid more than £200 for a return flight. Usually Stansted.

Hell, the most I've ever paid for a flight is £600 return to Thailand with Ethiad.

BA aren't required for a 4 hour flight to be honest. Try Norwegian Air who are brilliant. Other than that, tweak your dates a little.

We go away 5-6 times a year and never pay anything close to those figures.

Bali for 12 nights 1st week of October coming. 2 bed villa with pool for £480. Flights are £500 each with Emirates from Gatwick....

Looks great - but I'd not take our kids on a flight that long it wouldn't be fair on them and the other passengers. 3 hour flight was on one trip horrific (especially when seatbelts had to be worn for landing torture)

Sadly dates are rigid - school and work timescale mean the only slots in the year are utter peak season and nothing I can do about it (I refuse to take out of school not due to the fine but as I don't want them to miss out on education).

Going out of peak season during school term in June is a lot cheaper yes but irrelevant to any parent.

I used Sky scanner & listed BA as my first choice (we always fly with them and usually given you book far enough in advance they are as cheap or cheaper than the budget airlines as we have found time and time again).

If you can find a great deal for those dates I listed I'd be mighty thankful

Meant to be all inclusive including food and drink!
Out of interest, which hotel have you picked?

We were at the Maritim in June

I presume you mean the Village and not the Spa for Almond Beach if it's with kids? The water sports were good there when I went, as was the food but the staff and general standard of the place fell well below par in my opinion. Saying that, it was a few years ago so I'd imagine it's had a refurb (or hope it has) by now.

Any good places with good scuba diving... what kind of prices for 7 or 14 days away next year?

Place is not as important as good food/drink/scuba.

Snorkling off the resort beach here in Grenada is pretty good, plenty of fish, pipefish, puffer fish & octopus all within a few yards. Scuba tomorrow.

Food & drink is non stop & good quality.
