Going to Kalkan soon and would like to know if we can get any proper pasteurised milk as close to English milk as possible, if so which one, what does the carton look like etc.

Also, any amazing restaurants ? I understand there are many with roof terraces overlooking the sea but food quality is King for us first and foremost. A good view thrown in would be nice.

Any tips on what to do where to go.

Thanks !

Getting traditional UK type milk is rare - some shops will only get maybe 12 bottles delivered every three or four days. You can get UHT milk. But beware - some bottles look like milk, but is actually yoghurt - and it tastes vile! Sorry, don;t have any pics - but just make sure you have a translator app on your phone!

Butter is also funny - very white in colour and some is more like cream than butter.

Am going there next week so will have a look in Tansas (local supermarket group - bit like a mini Asda)

Lots of restaurants on the way to the town centre, most are pretty good. Some of the waiters can be a pain because they keep filling your wine glasses, hoping you'll buy more wine. One of the best restaurants was located right by the harbour side but did have a noisy neighbour when I was there. I stayed at the Harpy hotel, loved the pool but I also used the Kalamar's beach resources occasionally.

Baharat was one of our favourites. Roof top restaurant, very accommodating with the kids (as most places out there were), great steak. Sofra was also good, they had a guy playing acoustic guitar on the evening we went. Doy Doy was a great place for lunch, they did a very nice take on a bacon cheeseburger. Salt & Pepper IMO has one of the best views, and the Steak was lovely. Presentation here was a cut above everywhere else, even the kids meals were presented very well...
