Hi guys I'm after a little inspiration, I've got a VW T5 camper that I'm renting for a long weekend. Looking at going to Wales but no idea where would be best. Picking it up from Lincolnshire at lunch time on a Friday so that's discounts Cornwall and Scotland due to time constraints.
Anyway, looking at possibly snowdonia area, but has anyone got any previous experience or advice?

Great choice.

Ok places to go

Criccieth
Harlech
Bala
Tenby

Ideal to use as hubs so you can cover lots in those areas.

If strictly Snowdonia - a lovely drive is Caernarfon out to llanberis to chapel curig betws y coed trawsfynydd and back to Caernarfon. Sweeping roads and also technically difficult sections too along with stop at every possible chance to enjoy the view and cafes and pubs.

Portmerrion is worth a visit, too.

Nice one cheers for that mate, I appreciate it. Never been before and I like the idea of doing a bit of walking and taking in the views.

Porthmadog area would be a good base - the town itself is a bit grey and uninspiring, but there's plenty of places accessible from there - Harlech and Portmerion are both nearby, you can get the Ffestiniog Railway and the Welsh Highland Railways from there (good real ale bar at the station), Criccieth is just up the road, and a less well known place, Borth-y-Gest, is about half a mile away. If you park in the (free) car park at Borth-y-Gest and walk, there is a coastal footpath running through woods, with steps and wooden bridges allowing you to access many secluded beaches, eventually you come round a headland and find yourself on Blackrock Sands with Criccieth at the other end.

Utterly stunning no matter what the weather is like. Take some walking boots a good camera and some Welsh ale doesn't get much better.

hehe

Depends how close to walking you want to be, and whether you need more facilities than a place to take a dump, but there are a few sites in the Ogwen valley and the bottom of the Llanberis Pass. If the weather's st (Wkich it will be...) Pete's Eats in Llanberis is good and Electric Mountain is surprisingly interesting.

Go to the Ty Coch pub on the beach in Morfa Nefyn. We love it there!
Whistling sands beach is lovely as is Aberdarron beach.

+1.

And if your onto golf play the course there it goes out on the Peninsula very difficult links course but stunning.
There is a pub a very short way up the hill from Ty Coch and it sells the best Scampi and Chips and Mushy peas I've ever had.

Dylan's in Croccieth is a 1050's modern retro Art Deco place in an amazing setting. Worth trying there too.
