French/Belgian borders.

Adenauer,
I drove back over to Blighty the weekend - using the Tunnel - and crossed the border in/out France/Belgium near Tournai/Lille on the E42. It was fine.
There are roadworks on that stretch of the E42 in Belgium (years overdue, so a good thing!) and there are police/army on the border, both sides, with 1 lane in either direction. There wasn't a delay really either on Thu morning or yesterday evening.
I guess if you were to head Aachen, Liege, and west all the way on the E42 (there are other roadworks on there in Belgium, but again, not an issue really) it would be OK for you?
That's a relief, the thought of spending 3 hours on a puke filled Ferry from Oostend was starting to give me a rash, cheers. I drove back over to Blighty the weekend - using the Tunnel - and crossed the border in/out France/Belgium near Tournai/Lille on the E42. It was fine.

I'm driving to Paris and back on Monday via eurotunnel. Anyone got any tips? Last year I just overtook all the trucks and drove straight in to the check in but things seem to have developed a bit since then
Don't think you'll be doing anything different this time. The queue to get through security may be longer so I wouldn't rock up 30 minutes before expecting to sail through; I'd allow an hour at least.I used the Tunnel last weekend, France to Eng-er-lund on Thu, returned Sunday.
Both sides had no check-in waiting times, very short security lines and quick passport checks. It wasn't a problem at all. You can check online for their delays, etc., too.

That's the official advice for the UK end. Don't queue with the lorries and keep to the right.5potTurbo said:

I wouldn't place too much faith in that online information service. When I was stuck in a 3.5 hour queue at Coquelles to get through Eurotunnel check-in, French security then UK security on 14/11 it was saying that all trains were departing on time without any delays. Which was true, but they omitted to mention that the trains had hardly anyone on them because the passengers were all stuck in the bloody queue to get through security! Both sides had no check-in waiting times, very short security lines and quick passport checks.
