There does seem to be a lack of knowledge among airport staff. At Atlanta they were directing US passport holders to the APC kiosks, everyone else to the manual, for want of a better word, immigration checks. No argument when I explained that as we had entered the US under the ESTA system several times we were eligible to use the kiosks, so maybe they were just taking the easy way out.

if you could get a cheap flight via Dublin then they have the immigration pre boarding, so you just walk off at other end.
