Two blokes on my train this morning having a loud conversation, women chatting on the phone daily etc. etc. It's as common as kids screaming.

Anyway back to my point. Not all kids are noisy, not all adults are well behaved / quiet.

OP - I once got a cheap return flight (£300) from LHR to NYC in August via Montreal with Air Canada, I've not found it again, but it may be worth another look.

i would yes, actually. especially if the kid is not used to flying and is like, under say 3, where they are going to just cry randomly.
If they are a quiet kid then I probably would fly business/first smile
Fair enough, each to their own. My personal point of view is that it's the same as any other form of public transport, money is paid and depending on what is paid you sit kin that class, the same as trains.

You definitely aren't the only person who thinks like this, I've seen people complain about 10 year old's in business at the start of the flight even though the ten year old's have been quiet and well behaved up to this point.

Well I found flights in Business with Swiss, from Dublin (admittedly via Zurich) for €1471, which is approx £1131 for the last 2 weeks of July

Interesting view.
I can't say that I've ever been aware of any airline which prohibits passengers of a particular age in a particular cabin?? What do you base that statement on, out of interest?
There's no basis for my statement.
Just that many business travelers perhaps want a more peaceful environment. I would be pissed off if I paid 40% extra for a classy flight and there was a screaming child.

Some airlines have minimum ages for classes. (can't find any sources. only what people say online).
Sounds like you haven't flown business for a few years. You won't find many people travelling on business in there, mainly the domain of families nowadays. Always plenty of kids and I would wager that not even an eyebrow would be lifted.

Not all mid 20s party?
More kids cry/scream than mid 20s party. I can't remember the last time I was on a train and I saw a group of any age being overly loud where as I can distinctly remember being on a train with a kid and wanting to kill myself.
You wanted to kill your self because a baby was crying? Sounds like you have bigger problems.

Do you have children? As a parent of a one year old, I can assure you that most parents will do what they can to stop their children crying in any situation and not just on planes.

There is a flight search web site call Monmumendo (I think) and that has a scale at the top of the search page that shows you the prices over the different days. Really useful when it comes to finding the cheapest price.

I have travelled in business class with the family more often than I have travelled in business class for work.

Quite frankly, if people complain about well behaved kids they can sod off. Last business class flight I was on was spoiled by a 60 year old obnoxious tt who was rude to everyone at the gate and snored really loudly for 3 hours.

I don't think anyone is complaining about well behaved kids.

There was a comment further up I think. But the point was sort of that adults are frequently worse than kids. Sadly business class doesn't seem to come with behaviour guidelines.

Just landed back at Heathrow this morning, had a nice flight in business class and didn't even notice there were several children a few rows from me. I definitely agree that it's a behavioural thing and that can happen in any cabin. However, based purely on volume, it tends to occur mostly in economy.
