Phucket - Sat 20th Feb

Hi

Last minute booking.

Sailing from Phuket. Arriving Saturday and have the option of staying somewhere or staying on the boat.

Thing is the boat is moored at Ao Yon.

Ideally, as it is only night, thinking of staying in a hotel and see Phuket downtown. Happy to taxi in to the center.

Any recommendations? Was thinking around Patong beach as half way?

There is nothing in Phucket town to see, just a dirty Thai market town, you need to be on the west coast, easy to get to , private taxi say 1000Baht each way (20 pounds), Patong is OK it can be whatever you want it to be, 300 pound will buy Phucket, on that budget you can stay anywhere, no need to book, I go to Phucket on my bike fairly regularly and never book just turn up, Holiday Inn Patong is OK. And less than 100 walk in.

We thought an evening around the Bangla Road area would be a giggle. Getting a hotel after the flight seemed nice and will provide us with a decent shower and bed for the first night.

After that we are stuck to the sail boat's facilities!
