Oslo.
Winter Park.
Middle of February for a week.

Have you done skiing before? It would probably be better to travel out of Oslo to one of the bigger resorts - a week (downhill skiing) will be a long time there if you know how to ski.Winter Park.
Middle of February for a week.

Just playing on the baby slope's.
Will only do 1 day at Vinter Park, and a day at the sledging slope, Korkertrekeren.
We are only going for a bit of fun.

I have a few days to kill in Southern Norway in early Jan and looking into skiing options. Anyone skied Trysil? Any good?
Not skied anything south of Oppdal, but it's a famous resort in Norway so should be good depending on your level. Generally the ski resorts here are not too demanding as the more extreme stuff is generally accessed by ski touring.Register1 said:

yeah lots of resorts getting a reasonable amount of slopes opened up. think this is mainly down to the colder weather than last year. they had a decent dump of snow, mid/late November that got them going (like last year) but its not snowed since. but this years its stayed cold for the majority of the time and allowed lots of snow making, where as last year it got back up into double figures mid December.
weather charts starting to look promising for some changeable weather coming through round about xmas. but I'm not off till mid January so I'm not as nervous as last year (where it was very rough for xmas and new year and then dumped the day before I arrived on the 3rd of jan).

Breaking news BA cabin crew are going on strike over pay and conditions. Dates TBC.
We're flying with BA and I'm fearing we will be hit knowing our luck.
Typical...We're flying with BA and I'm fearing we will be hit knowing our luck.
I fly home from a Germany business trip the day before I fly out to my Verbier holiday.
I chose BA for the business trip because I want to reliably get home in time and not scupper my holiday. My last 2 Lufthansa flights have been cancelled because of industrial action.

I dunno, Saturdays are usually relatively quiet on the slopes as the vast majority of punters are either arriving or leaving. Sundays aren't TOO bad if you're away from the village and obvious bottlenecks as a lot of the package tour mob are still finding their feet.
Generally true for Saturdays, but if you're in a resort near a big town/city, Sunday's can be mental as the townfolk have a day out.We used to live in Munich and ski in Austrian/German resorts and we'd usually go Saturday while the locals we're shopping (back then, the shops shut at 13:00 on a Saturday and never opened on a Sunday) and the package tourists were swapping over and it would be almost empty!
Sundays, though, could be incredibly busy, driving down, on the slopes and driving home...
I've seen similar in places close to Geneva and the like.

Nørrona stuff is awesome! I'm pretty sure the 'normal' part of the clothes is as strong as the reinforced part of some other trousers. I only have the trousers/bib - I am not on the skiing level of being allowed a onesie, NRS said:

Out of interest I had a look at the Nørrona site to see how much that cost and its a good job I was sitting down at the time!I would want the orange colour even if it does make me look like someone who has fallen off a boat
